Three-Bedroom Sarasota Homes for March Spring Training

Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida on a sunny March afternoon during Orioles spring training

Short answer: yes, there are three-bedroom houses in Sarasota built exactly for this trip, and several of them sleep eight rather than six, which changes the arithmetic on a per-person basis considerably. We manage 28 homes in Sarasota, and the three-bedroom ones split into two clear camps: the ones that sleep six in real beds, and the ones that stretch to eight with a sleeper sofa or a third king. Which camp you want depends on whether your group is four adults who like their own space or six adults and two kids who'll be out at the ballpark most of the day anyway.

On the $250 to $400 range: that's a sensible search filter for Sarasota in March, and it's the window most people planning a Grapefruit League week land on. March is peak season here, so use it as a criterion and let us check it against your actual dates rather than treating it as a quoted rate. Rates move with length of stay, and a week often prices very differently from a long weekend.

Where you sleep matters less than how long the drive to first pitch is

Ed Smith Stadium sits on 12th Street, just off I-75 and less than two miles from downtown Sarasota, which is the single most useful geographic fact for planning this trip. The Orioles have trained there since 2010. Boog's BBQ, the pit operation that made its name at Camden Yards, sets up in left field, which is the part of the ballpark Baltimore people tell you about first.

From Siesta Key it's about eight miles in, a quarter of an hour in ordinary traffic. If you're chasing more than one team, LECOM Park in Bradenton (the Pirates, on 9th Street West) is roughly 13 miles north of Ed Smith, call it twenty minutes. CoolToday Park in North Port, where the Braves play, is about thirty miles south. All three are doable from one house in Sarasota, which is the real argument for basing here rather than splitting the week.

One scheduling note worth knowing before you book flights: the Orioles' 2026 home slate runs from late February through a last home game on March 22, with split-squad days on March 7 and March 19 when half the roster is on the road. If you've built the trip around seeing particular players, check the schedule against your week.

Three bedrooms that sleep eight, which is the better value play

Seashells & Sunshine is the house I'd point most groups at first. Three bedrooms (king, queen, king) plus a full sleeper sofa gets you to eight, and the pool is heated November through April, held around the low eighties, at no extra charge. March mornings in Sarasota can be cooler than people expect, and an unheated pool in March is a decorative water feature. There's a game room with ping pong, karaoke and video games, bikes in the garage and a beach kit with chairs, umbrellas and coolers already packed. It sits between Sarasota and Bradenton, so Anna Maria Island beaches are about twenty minutes, downtown Sarasota fifteen.

Your Crew's Perfect Gulf Coast Base takes a different approach to the same headcount: three queen bedrooms, each with its own TV, two separate living spaces, and a family room pull-out for the eighth. The yard is stocked with games and there's a beach kit ready to load into the car. It's pet friendly and minutes from Siesta Key. If your eight are four couples rather than a family, three queens beats a king-queen-king split every time.

Two more in the same bracket: Haven Hideaway has a heated saltwater pool with water fountains and tropical planting around it, centrally located for golf, beaches and restaurants. Heated Salt Water Pool & Fire Pit Retreat is a three-bedroom cottage with a pool bar, a fire pit and a game area outside, which is the house for a group whose idea of a good evening is standing around a grill arguing about the bullpen. Sarasota Sunhaven rounds out the group: a renovated three-bedroom in a quiet neighbourhood with a redone kitchen and both a living room and a family room, so eight people aren't stacked into one couch.

If six is your real number, these are better houses

A group of six in a house built for eight is a group paying for a sleeper sofa nobody uses. Three homes here are sized honestly for six.

Aloha Cottage at Sapphire Shores is the one for two couples who don't want to negotiate over a bathroom. Two primary suites, each with its own en-suite, a third bedroom with two singles, three full bathrooms in total. It's an Old Florida house in a historic neighbourhood with a covered screened patio and a propane grill, and SRQ airport is five minutes away, which makes for an easy arrival after a travel day. Note the seven-night minimum, set by City of Sarasota rules. That rules it out for a weekend and makes it ideal for a full week of baseball.

The Pool. The Views. The House. sits in Palm Aire, a golf community, with a heated pool looking out over the course and two king bedrooms that open straight onto the deck. Third bedroom is twin beds. One dog under 50 pounds is welcome with prior notice. Worth knowing before you plan arrival day: between January and April there's no early check-in or late checkout, so build the drive from the airport around a four o'clock door.

And if you want to walk rather than drive, The Ringling House sits on Ringling Boulevard, less than a mile from downtown, 0.2 miles from the Legacy Trail and four and a half miles from Lido Key Beach and St. Armands Circle. It sleeps seven. No pool, but you're in the middle of the city, which for a group that wants dinner downtown after a day game is the trade worth making. Modern Hacienda also sleeps seven, in a quiet residential pocket minutes from most of Sarasota, with a yard, beach gear and room for a dog.

When three bedrooms stop being enough

Ten people in a three-bedroom house is a bad week for everyone. Arlington Ocean Oasis is five bedrooms and five bathrooms sleeping ten, with two primary suites and living rooms on two floors, which is the part that matters: ten people need two places to sit, not one big one. The heated saltwater pool is out back, and the kitchen is set up for proper cooking, with a Big Green Egg alongside the grill. It's minutes from Lido Key and Siesta Key, with quick access to Tamiami Trail and Bahia Vista Street. Quiet hours are enforced and there are no parties, which is worth saying plainly because people book big houses for both reasons.

At eight people with a dog in tow, two four-bedroom homes are worth a look over the three-bedrooms. Heated Pool & Hot Tub | 4BR Sarasota Home has a heated saltwater pool, a hot tub included in the base rate, and a screened lanai with an outdoor TV, which is how you watch the late game without going inside. Siesta Key is about ten minutes. Sarasota Springs Pool Retreat is a four-bedroom pool home in a quiet neighbourhood, dog friendly with prior approval, close to Siesta Key, Lido Key and downtown.

What to settle before you book

Three things decide most March bookings, and none of them appear in a photo gallery.

  • Minimum stay. Some of these homes carry a seven-night minimum in season. If you're coming for a long weekend, tell us the dates first and we'll tell you what's actually open to you.
  • Pool heat. Not every pool is heated the same way. Seashells & Sunshine includes heat through the winter months at no extra charge; at the Iola Drive house, pool heating is requested in advance for a fee while the hot tub is included. Ask before you assume.
  • Dogs. Several homes take one well-behaved dog with prior approval and some take none at all. Declare the dog at booking rather than at check-in.

Every home comes with a kitchen stocked for actual cooking, a washer and dryer, and parking on site, which for a baseball week means you're not feeding eight people in restaurants twice a day and you're not circling for a space with a cooler in the boot.

Booking it

Tell us your dates, your headcount and whether anyone's bringing a dog, and we'll come back with what's genuinely open in March rather than a list you have to filter yourself. We've been doing this across Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties for over twenty years, locally owned and independently operated, with the same team inspecting the homes and answering the phone when something needs sorting at nine on a Tuesday night.

Book direct and you get our best rate guarantee plus guest perks you won't find on the listing sites. Weekend getaways through to monthly stays, which in March is the difference between a four-day trip around one series and a snowbird month with baseball attached.
